Cousins George (left) and Mark Durrant (right) of Ilford Golf Club entered The Saturday medal on the 25th August 2018 in separate 4balls only to find out in the clubhouse that the both of them shattered the existing course record set at -4 (64)
George Durrant posted a gross score of -6 (62) at 4.40pm only for the course record to be matched a further 10 minutes later by Mark on the demanding and tight par 68. As seen by the 2 scorecards it will be interesting whether this brilliant feat can be beaten once again by either family member?
George Durrant was holding the honour as Ilford’s club captain and playing off a scratch handicap at the time this record was set – The first seen for a captain of the club in the 112 year history.
